NEW YORK (MainStreet) — We’re barely two weeks into the new year and let’s face it: Most of us are already pining for a getaway. Fortunately, there are some great deals on flights today if you’re aching to plan an off-season vacation.
JetBlue (Stock Quote: JBLU) is offering dozens of flights starting at just $29 each way. The cheapest tickets are for a single flight between Fort Lauderdale, Florida and the Bahamas, but there are several other $39 deals for short distance routes like Boston to New York, or Boston to D.C. You can fly from New York to the Bahamas for just $99 or fly cross-country between Boston and Los Angeles for $129.
The deals are good on flights between January 18 and April 6, with several blackout dates depending on the particular flight. The flights must be booked by 11:59 EST Thursday online.
American Airlines (Stock Quote: AMR) is also offering its own set of domestic flight deals today, which are slightly more expensive than those offered by JetBlue, starting at just $49 each way. For $49, you can book local trips like Waco, Texas to Dallas, but you can also book a flight from New York to Chicago for $94, or from Boston to Cancun for $119.
American’s deals are good on flights between January 23 and May 25, with several blackout dates in between, and must be booked online by 11:59 EST tonight.
Take advantage of the low prices while you can. Airlines are already in the process of raising fees for 2011.
