NEW YORK (MainStreet) — A new marijuana bill has been introduced in Congress by Republican Representative Morgan Griffith of Virginia. The Legitimate Use of Medicinal Marijuana Act would change the classification of marijuana from a Schedule I drug to a Schedule II drug. The LUMMA bill has been referred to committee, where it stands an 11% chance of being approved. The bill would also prohibit the government from preventing prescriptions and the possession of medical marijuana.
