TerraForm Power (TERP) Stock Soars on First Trading Day After IPO

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- TerraForm Power (TERP), a subsidiary of SunEdison  (SUNE), soared more than 30% on Friday, its first day of trading after its IPO.

The company priced its initial public offering of 20,065,000 shares at $25 a share, the high end of an increased price range. The offering includes a 30-day option for underwriters to purchase up to an additional 3,009,750 shares.

The stock opened at $33.26 and hit a high of $34.34 as of 11:22 a.m., by which point more than 11 million shares had changed hands.
