Why American Airlines Group (AAL) Stock Is Gaining Today

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of American Airlines Group Inc. (AAL) are higher by 2.59% to $42.78 at the start of trading on Friday as the airline sector begins to rebound following yesterday's sell off, after a Malaysia Airline (MLYAF) plane was shot down over eastern Ukraine.

Other airline stocks on the rise this morning include Delta Airlines (DAL), up 1.89% to $37.26, Southwest Airlines (LUV), higher by 1.13% to $27.82, and United Continental (UAL), up by 1.82% to $44.14.
