Why American Airlines (AAL) Stock Is Down Today

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- American Airlines (AAL) stock is reversing following news that a Malaysian Airlines passenger plane crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border this afternoon.

Shares are down -1.9% to $42.64.

Fellow airlines United Continental (UAL) -1.76 , Delta (DAL) -1.72 and Southwest (LUV) -0.9 are also experiencing declines in the aftermath of the news.
