TAMPA, Fla., July 14, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Quality Distribution, Inc. (Nasdaq:QLTY) ("Quality" or the "Company") announced today that it has named Chris Broussard as President of QC Energy Resources ("QCER"), effective July 28, 2014. "Chris is an industry veteran, with more than twenty-two years of combined transportation and energy services related experience," said Gary Enzor, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "His industry experience coupled with a dedicated safety focus and operational expertise uniquely qualify him for this role." Most recently Chris served as President of Oilfield Trucking Solutions, which until a recent spin off had been a subsidiary of Chesapeake Energy Corporation. Earlier in his career, Chris spent six years with Occidental Petroleum Corporation in numerous leadership positions including Director of Transportation for Occidental Energy Transportation, a private crude oil trucking division of Occidental Petroleum. Chris holds a Bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University. "I am extremely pleased to join the QCER team at this exciting time in the Company's evolution," said Chris Broussard. "As North America continues to develop the unconventional oil and gas market, I anticipate solid growth prospects for QCER. I look forward to building upon the success QCER has achieved and am committed to seeking out new opportunities for growth and profitability." Chris will be assuming this critical role from Joe Troy, who, in addition to his normal responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer of Quality, has served since January 2014 as the Interim President of QCER. "I am very grateful that Joe agreed to run QCER for us over the last 7 months," said Gary Enzor. "Through a highly disciplined approach, Joe has helped the QCER team improve communication and operating results across the entire footprint, with an emphasis on increasing asset utilization, broadening our affiliate base, reducing costs and leveraging our sales team in acquiring much more sustainable oil hauling revenue."
