Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC) and TriWest Healthcare Alliance have signed an agreement that will expand access to healthcare services for Veterans in Arizona, California, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas. As a result, Veterans will gain access to 41 hospitals, 19 urgent care centers, seven freestanding emergency departments, 18 ambulatory surgery centers, 85 diagnostic imaging centers and nearly 600 employed physicians. This is the first agreement between Tenet and TriWest. “Tenet is proud to partner with TriWest to offer more healthcare options for our nation’s Veterans, supplementing the capabilities of the Department of Veterans Affairs and providing expedited care at a time when it is needed most,” said Clint Hailey, chief managed care officer for Tenet Healthcare. “We look forward to working collaboratively with TriWest, in support of the VA, to improve the health of the brave men and women who have served our country.” The agreement will enhance the coordination of care in the Veterans community by enabling the sharing of information between VA healthcare facilities and Tenet facilities. “This new agreement with Tenet represents a significant expansion to TriWest’s network of providers in five of our 28 states of operation and is aimed at enhancing Veterans’ access to healthcare. Tenet has a strong presence in many communities where our nation’s Veterans live and their wide variety of services and multiple care settings are a great addition to our network. We couldn’t be more pleased to complete this agreement,” said David J. McIntyre, Jr., chief executive officer for TriWest Healthcare Alliance.
