If you thought there was a lot of beer-drinking during the Superbowl, nothing beats the World Cup.

As World Cup soccer fever sweeps the globe, chances are bars are packed with cheering fans.

Beer is a huge part of the U.S economy.  In the U.S. alone the overall beer industry was worth $100 billion in 2013, according to the Brewers Association.

Of that amount, craft brewing made up $14.3 billion of it.

The widely recognized site RateBeer.com touts itself as the most visited source for accurate craft beer information.  Its users are comprised of an independent community of beer enthusiasts who narrowed down the Top 20 best bottles in the world.  

Users rank the beer on various criteria including aroma, appearance, and taste.

Interestingly, the majority of the best craft beers are made in the U.S.A, but many of them are pretty hard to find.  Here is a list of the top 20 craft beers in the world...

Goose Island Bourbon County Stout

This Imperial Stout is brewed in Chicago at the Goose Island Brewery.

New Glarus Brewing, based in Wisconsin, advertises it as a "wild, funky, sour beer."  This brew is fermented and aged in oak barrels, with Oregon marion blackberries.

Russian River Pliny the Elder

Russian River Brewery creates Pliny the Elder in Amarillo, CA.  It's well-balanced with malt, hops, and alcohol, slightly bitter with a fresh hop aroma of floral, citrus, and pine.

The brewer says it is best enjoyed fresh, which is why it is made in such a limited supply.  

Russian River even prints the bottling date on each bottle.

Cigar City Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout

The Hunahpu's Imperial Stout is brewed just once a year, and that's on the second Saturday in March.

Cigar City's Wayne Wambles, the head brewer said it "pours extremely dark in color with a brown head and notes of big chocolate and espresso, moderate notes of vanilla and cinnamon and a mild tinge of tobacco and chili's."

Hunahpu is only released at it brewery in Florida.

Bells Expedition Stout

Demand has grown so much for Dark Lord that attendance for the release is now limited to 6,000 pre-ordered tickets.
