Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc. (NYSE: RRTS) today announced the addition of two new executives to its senior leadership team. Mark T. Peterson joins the company as Executive Vice President of Sales, and Robert M. Milane joins as Vice President of Risk Management.

In the newly created position of Executive Vice President of Sales, Peterson will serve as Roadrunner’s top sales executive, responsible for leading the company’s sales professionals, customer development strategies and growth and yield initiatives across the entire organization. A 29-year industry veteran in the freight transportation and logistics industry, Peterson was most recently Senior Vice President at CRST Specialized Transportation, Inc. Prior to CRST, Peterson held successive senior management roles at Mode Transportation, FFE Transportation Services, Inc. and Landstar System, Inc. He began his career with Consolidated Freightways.

As Vice President of Risk Management, Milane’s responsibilities include reducing insurance and claims costs company wide. He brings more than 20 years of risk management experience to Roadrunner, with special expertise in the analysis and resolution of risk management issues. Most recently, Milane was Associate Vice President for Canal Insurance Company, a transportation and trucking specialty insurer. Prior to Canal Insurance, Milane was the Managing Director of Risk Management for FedEx Ground.
