NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Properties in London, Edinburgh and Kuwait will be the first member hotels of the Quorvus Collection, a luxury brand being launched by the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.
The May Fair Hotel in London, G&V Royal Mile in Edinburgh and the Symphony Style Hotel in Kuwait are the first of what will eventually be 20 hotels making up the Quorvus Collection.
The hotels in Edinburgh and Kuwait will join the collection immediately, with the May Fair in London becoming a member this summer, according to a press release from Carlson Rezidor Group.
"Each property has its own unique style, personality and heritage with one essential factor at the core -- a five-star luxury hotel experience," Carlson Rezidor Group President and CEO Wolfgang M. Neumann says of the new properties.
Carlson Rezidor Group announced plans for its Quorvus Collection brand in March. It's one of two brands being launched by the company. Quorvus Collection will join together independently owned, existing luxury hotels under the Carlson Rezidor umbrella. The company's second new brand, Radisson Red, will be new construction, creating what the company calls an upscale lifestyle select brand.
Hotels selected to become members of the Quorvus Collection will be properties that are historic landmarks, contemporary residences, classic boutiques or urban retreats. Each property will be different in scale, architecture and design, the press release says.
Quorvus Collection hotels will all include a signature suite of services that the company calls "Q24," a concept that focuses on six core elements: wellness, replenishment, style, inspiration, entertainment and connectivity.
The Carlson Rezidor Group's goal is to have the entire Quorvus Collection in operation or under development by 2020.
The first three properties each bring a unique, luxe history of their own.
The 404-room May Fair for example, was opened by King George V in 1927 and has played host to some of London's most extravagant society events. The property includes the May Fair Theatre, home to fashion and film and a 201-seat private screening room.
The Symphony Style Hotel in Kuwait is part of the symphony complex in Salmiya, the main shopping and entertainment district of Kuwait City. The 18-floor hotel has breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf, three restaurants, high tech in each room and a luxury spa.
The G&V Royal Mile Hotel, in Edinburgh, is in the heart of the city at the corner of George IV Bridge, Victoria Street and The Royal Mile. The 136-room hotel includes an award-winning restaurant, and the Fashionista Bar G&V, a place to see and be seen.
"These three unique hotels lay a strong foundation for the further development of Quorvus Collection," Neumann says.
Each of the three hotels will retain their name as they become part of the Quorvus Collection.
The Quorvus Collection is designed to compete with luxury hotel chains such as The Leading Hotels of the World collection, the Autograph Collection by Marriott and The Luxury Collection by Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
