BALLERUP, Denmark, May 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- LiqTech International, Inc. (NYSE: LIQT) ("LiqTech")LiqTech International A/S, in cooperation with Time Solution, a Danish based company selling conventional Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems, developed a small and compact Flat Sheet Membrane filtration unit for pre-Reverse Osmosis and drinking water purposes. The unit combines LiqTech's advanced Silicon Carbide Ultra Filtration technology with a robust and simple design enabling it to run without the use of power and requiring minimal operations skills. The first prototypes were finalized in December 2013 and have been operating successfully cleaning rain and tap water prior to Reverse Osmosis ever since. The results have been very positive, effectively outperforming conventional technology for Pre-RO by radically lowering the operating expenditures which provides the customer with significant savings within the first year of operation. The superior performance and large demand in the early stages have now resulted in a commercial volume order valued at $270,000 from Time Solution Denmark. Mr. Jan Hanson, CEO of Time Solution, commented: "It is like being part of the future when one realizes what an amazing filter unit we have developed compared to old filtration technologies. Our aim was to develop a zero energy, dependable, low tech, affordable and sustainable water filtration unit that could be easily cleaned and used again and again needing no replacement parts. Not only did we fulfill these requirements, but we also found it to be an extremely effective pre-filter for Reverse Osmosis systems with its ultrafiltration capabilities and the highest water flux of any membrane material. We are proud to have worked with LiqTech International A/S to bring this unit to the market as it will add credibility to anyone with a green profile and provides clean drinking water to people suffering from polluted drinking water."
