Vertex Energy (VTNR) Falls Despite Earnings Beat

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Vertex Energy  (VTNR) fell Tuesday despite the company's first-quarter earnings that beat analysts' expectations.

The company reported earnings of 4 cents a share, which edged the consensus estimate of 3 cents a share. Revenue totaled $47.3 million, which surpassed the consensus estimate of $42.28 million. Vertex also noted per barrel margin increased 5% year over year.

The stock was down 10.51% to $7.58 at 3:42 p.m.
