Huntington Bancshares Inc. (NASDAQ: HBAN) has named John Augustine, a well-known investment strategist, as chief investment officer for The Private Client Group, Huntington announced today. He is known in the financial world for his frequent appearances on CNBC and Bloomberg. Augustine will be responsible for the investment strategies and activities for the bank’s fiduciary businesses. He will report directly to Steve Short, director of The Huntington Trust. Augustine has nearly 30 years of broad experience in banking, portfolio management and market strategy. During the last 13 years, he was the chief economic and market strategist for Fifth Third Asset Management, Inc. He was a member of the Investment Policy Committee, Investment Strategy Team, Alternative Investments Team and Preferred Funds Selection Team.
