Ellie Mae (NYSE:ELLI), a leading provider of innovative on-demand software solutions and services for the residential mortgage industry, today announced that Sig Anderman, founder and CEO, of the Company, has been named a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year™ 2014 Award in the Northern California region. Mr. Anderman was selected as a finalist from more than 100 nominations by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced at a gala event on June 10, 2014 at The Fairmont San Jose Hotel.

“The EY Entrepreneur of the Year program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities,” according to EY. Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year national program.

EY added, “The Entrepreneur Of The Year program celebrates those who are building and leading successful, growing and dynamic businesses, recognizing them through regional, national and global awards programs in more than 150 cities in more than 60 countries.”

“When we started our company 17 years ago, we had one goal in mind: To use technology to reduce friction, paper, time and cost within the mortgage industry,” said Mr. Anderman. “I never imagined that this simple idea conceived on the back of a menu in a Black Angus Steakhouse would grow into the company we are today, or that it would lead to this nomination. I’m truly honored to be in the company of such an outstanding group of entrepreneurs.”

In 2013, approximately 3.5 million loan applications ran through Ellie Mae’s Encompass mortgage management solution and Ellie Mae Network. Today, more than 94,000 users rely on Ellie Mae’s software and the company employs more than 450 people throughout the country.
