NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Luke, I am your box office hit.
Walt Disney (DIS), which acquired Lucas Studios, the maker of Star Wars, and other properties, announced the cast of Star Wars VII, which includes Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, as had been rumored, and a slew of other actors and actresses.
Joining Ford, Fisher, Hammill and other originals are actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. They will be joined by Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker, who were also in the original Star Wars movies.
In a press release, director J.J. Abrams said, "We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."
The movie opens worldwide on Dec. 18, 2015.
