Facebook Partners With Storyful to Deliver a Social-Driven Newswire

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Facebook  (FB) is turning shared content on its platform into a newswire.

The Menlo Park, Calif.-based company announced Thursday it is partnering with News Corp's  (NWSA) Storyful to aggregate users' shared content for journalists to access for their own reporting.

"This will include original photos, videos and status updates posted by people on the front lines of major events like protests, elections and sporting events," Facebook said in the announcement.

Facebook Partnership Director Andy Mitchell will be speaking to TheStreet's Joe Deaux Thursday afternoon about the new Facebook Newswire.
