The Uranium segment is involved in the exploration for, mining, milling, purchase, and sale of uranium concentrate. Cameco has a market cap of $9.2 billion and is part of the basic materials sector. Shares are up 12.5% year to date as of the close of trading on Tuesday. Currently there are 7 analysts that rate Cameco a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and 3 rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates Cameco as a buy. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its robust revenue growth, compelling growth in net income, impressive record of earnings per share growth, solid stock price performance and largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures. We feel these strengths outweigh the fact that the company shows weak operating cash flow.

On the positive front, Allied Nevada Gold ( ANV), up 7.6%, AK Steel ( AKS), up 7.1%, MAG Silver ( MVG), up 7.0% and Seabridge Gold ( SA), up 6.9% , were all gainers within the metals & mining industry with ArcelorMittal ( MT) being today's featured metals & mining industry leader.
