Why American Airlines Group (AAL) Stock Closed Down Today

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares in American Airlines Group (AAL) closed down -4.36% to $35.26 on Thursday following a report the airline is ranked among the worst in the United States in terms of customer service.

American Airlines and United (UAL) are ranked in the top four for customer complaints for 2011 through 2013, according to a study by the U.S. PIRG Education Fund.

The study shows American Airlines had more complaints regarding flight delays and cancellations when the company merged with U.S. Airways in December 2013.
