DirectriX--composed of Michael Ryan, Andre Hijaouy, Shaun Hannibal, Jack Evans and August Butzke and mentored by Compuware professionals--presented the winning concept to the judging panel that included:

The objective of the "Community Connection" app is to increase the number of people who volunteer by making the experience easy and enjoyable. DirectriX beat out worthy entries from classmates, including a mobile app solution to improve doctor efficiency in checking patient status and an app to help users organize their social media channels.
The Compuware Mobile App Challenge is an innovative program in which students are asked to work collaboratively to come up with a mobile application that addresses a need in their school or community. The Challenge teaches students valuable lessons about teamwork and technology while giving them insights into potential future careers. The inaugural C-MAC took place in the fall of 2013 at Detroit's Marcus Garvey Academy.
