Capstone Turbine (CPST) Hits Five-Year High on Heavy Volume

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Capstone Turbine  (CPST) soared to a five-year high of $2.42 as of 11:52 a.m. on Tuesday on higher-than-average volume.

The company had amassed a volume of more than 25 million, approximately five times greater than its average of 5,284,870. The stock surged more than 20% in morning trading.

Last week, the company announced it had received orders for microturbines for a total of 2.6 megawatts. Regatta Solutions ordered two Capstone C800s and one Capstone C1000, which will be used in two Southern California hospitals. One of the hospitals will receive the two Capstone C800s, while the other bought the single Capstone C1000.
