It operates in three segments: FMC Agricultural Solutions, FMC Health and Nutrition, and FMC Minerals. FMC Corporation has a market cap of $10.4 billion and is part of the chemicals industry. Shares are up 3.5% year to date as of the close of trading on Friday. Currently there are 8 analysts that rate FMC Corporation a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and 3 rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates FMC Corporation as a buy. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its revenue growth, growth in earnings per share, solid stock price performance and notable return on equity. We feel these strengths outweigh the fact that the company has had sub par growth in net income.

On the negative front, Mines Management ( MGN), down 15.5%, Walter Energy ( WLT), down 9.8%, Great Panther Silver ( GPL), down 8.7% and General Moly ( GMO), down 7.0% , were all laggards within the basic materials sector with Petroleo Brasileiro SA Petrobras ( PBR.A) being today's basic materials sector laggard.
