EKOCYCLE and Global Citizen want YOU to pledge #ADayWithoutWaste on April 9 and join a global movement creating lasting change to benefit the environment. The recycling awareness campaign is the next phase of the organizations’ partnership and shared commitment to sustainability. It aims to inspire and educate people to understand how individual actions can amount to change. Starting today, people can register at ADayWithoutWaste.org and take the one-day pledge, committing to make a positive social change in the world. Users will be engaged through content such as articles, quizzes, infographics and videos. Through their participation, users can enter for the chance to win free concert tickets through the Global Citizen Tickets Initiative and the Global Citizen Nights concert series. “We’re asking everyone to take a step back and look at their everyday patterns of waste consumption in an effort to encourage even the smallest change that will result in environmental protection,” said Ryan Gall, co-founder of Global Citizen. “Like our organization, EKOCYCLE is dedicated to creating a social sustainability movement around the world and it is our goal with the #ADayWithoutWaste campaign to bring awareness to the permanent, positive changes people can make each day.” A photo booth at the Global Citizen Nights concert today at SXSW will offer people the opportunity to think about their consumption habits and then capture their visual commitment to taking more conscious steps toward reducing their waste.
