Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) today announced it was recognized as the “Class II Corporation of the Year” by the Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council (OMSDC) for its work with minority business enterprises (MBEs) in 2013. Pamela Brailsford, Senior Director of Supplier Diversity and Sustainability at Cintas, accepted the award, which is the highest designation presented to corporate members of the OMSDC. Cintas previously won the award in 2011. “Steering MWBEs toward success is an ongoing corporate goal at Cintas,” said Brailsford. “We’re thrilled to accept this award because customers today are demanding greater supplier diversity involvement from organizations, and we’re able to demonstrate our unwavering support for MWBE inclusion.” The “Class II Corporation of the Year” is an annual recognition given to a corporation earning $3-12 billion in revenue. The winning organization must demonstrate a commitment to the OMSDC and make an effort to advance relationships with MWBEs in the community. Cintas was selected for its commitment to increasing spend with MWBEs and its focus on mentoring business leaders to ensure continued growth. Cintas makes supplier diversity a part of its strategic sourcing process so that spend is continually tracked and analyzed. Additionally, Cintas’ supplier diversity steering committee, comprised of members of the C-suite, directors of each business department, change agents and others within the company, identifies ways to maintain diverse supplier success. “Over the years, Cintas has made impressive progress in building a network of diverse suppliers and helping MBEs be the best they can be,” said Darryl Peal, President/CEO of OMSDC. “We’re honored to name them the ‘Class II Corporation of the Year’ for the second time.” For more information on Cintas, please visit www.cintas.com.
