YY Inc (YY): Today's Featured Diversified Services Laggard

By the end of trading, YY fell $1.15 (-1.7%) to $67.14 on light volume. Throughout the day, 1,037,141 shares of YY exchanged hands as compared to its average daily volume of 1,570,800 shares. The stock ranged in price between $66.17-$68.95 after having opened the day at $68.95 as compared to the previous trading day's close of $68.29. Other companies within the Diversified Services industry that declined today were: Weight Watchers International ( WTW), down 27.7%, Chegg ( CHGG), down 22.3%, Higher One Holdings ( ONE), down 10.1% and Zillow ( Z), down 10.0%.

YY Inc., through its subsidiaries, operates an online social platform in the People's Republic of China. It provides YY Client, a personal computer based user software that offers real-time access to user-created online social activities groups. YY has a market cap of $3.6 billion and is part of the technology sector. Shares are up 35.8% year to date as of the close of trading on Thursday. Currently there are 4 analysts that rate YY a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and none rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates YY as a hold. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its solid stock price performance, notable return on equity and robust revenue growth. However, as a counter to these strengths, we find that the company's profit margins have been poor overall.

On the positive front, EnviroStar ( EVI), up 8.2%, MGT Capital Investments ( MGT), up 7.0%, Intersections ( INTX), up 6.3% and Document Security Systems ( DSS), up 5.8% , were all gainers within the diversified services industry with MasterCard Incorporated ( MA) being today's featured diversified services industry leader.
