NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- GT Advanced Technologies (GTAT) gained 13.5% to $10.73 Friday based on a report that Apple (AAPL) will use sapphire crystal displays in future iPhones.

According to 9To5Mac report GT Advanced has ordered inspection tools that would help the company produce sapphire crystal displays for mobile devices. The sapphire maker could use those tools to produce up to 200 million screen covers for devices per year.
