Imation Announces Strategic Relationship With Ingram Micro For Nexsan™ Storage Solutions

Imation (NYSE:IMN), a global data storage and information security company, today announced that it has expanded its U.S. distribution agreement with Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM), the world’s largest technology distributor, to include Imation’s Nexsan™ storage solutions. Under this agreement, Ingram Micro will leverage its vast network to recruit and support new resellers for Nexsan solutions, allowing those partners in the U.S. to capitalize on the rapidly growing need for scalable storage to support strategic IT initiatives.

Imation’s Nexsan portfolio features  NST™ unified hybrid storage systems, Assureon™ secure automated archive solutions, and E-Series™ high-density enterprise storage arrays. Nexsan solutions are ideal for mission-critical IT applications such as virtualization, cloud, databases, and collaboration; and energy efficient, high-density storage for backup and archiving. Served by a worldwide partner network, Nexsan solutions are used by more than 11,000 customers worldwide, with more than 33,000 systems deployed since 1999.

“Imation and Ingram Micro have had a long relationship in the removable media and secure USB storage businesses. Expanding our relationship with Ingram Micro to include our Nexsan storage solutions will allow Imation to expand the footprint of Nexsan solutions in the channel,” said Mike Stolz, Imation’s vice president of marketing and technical support for Imation’s Nexsan solutions. “Existing channel partners understand Imation’s commitment to its reseller partners—a commitment that will define our business well into the future. The Ingram Micro relationship creates an exciting new opportunity to enable additional partners to bring proven, ultra-reliable, versatile Nexsan solutions to growing organizations from the midmarket to the enterprise.”

With this agreement, Ingram Micro will recruit, qualify and support new technology resellers and integrators to represent Imation’s Nexsan storage solutions. Ingram Micro’s Advanced Computing Division will provide new resellers with professional sales support, on-the-ground resources, recommended marketing programs, training, and sales toolkits.

“A relationship with Imation’s Nexsan portfolio is a natural extension for Ingram Micro and builds on the success of our Promark acquisition by expanding our storage solutions portfolio,” said Scott Zahl, vice president and general manager, Ingram Micro Advanced Computing Division. “Businesses today are managing larger and larger amounts of digital data, in a world where security risks abound and most data is governed by compliance and reporting requirements. The Imation portfolio of Nexsan storage products is known for outstanding reliability, and a line of solutions optimized for scalability, performance and compliance. Together, we are helping our channel partners meet the market’s growing need for reliable storage technology solutions.”

Various industry organizations have applauded the Nexsan Partner Program – now called the Imation Storage Solutions Channel Program – for consistent excellence. Imation channel executive Walter Palhetas has been recognized for three consecutive years as one of UBM Tech Channel's CRN Channel Chiefs; this prestigious list of the most influential and powerful leaders in the IT channel identifies those executives directly responsible for driving channel sales and growth within their organizations. Imation’s Nexsan Partner Program won the 2013 Storage Award’s “Channel Excellence Award,” and the company was named a runner-up in the “Channel Partner Program of the Year” category.
