Celanese Corporation (NYSE: CE), a global technology and specialty materials company, announced today that Jimmy (Ji Seon) Yu has joined Celanese as Managing Director for Celanese Korea, Ltd. In this role, Mr. Yu will oversee the company’s commercial, government affairs, industry and administrative activities in Korea. He will be based in Seoul, South Korea. “With a solid leadership team in Korea, Celanese will be able to quickly and appropriately respond to industry conditions and customer requirements,” said Mark Oberle, senior vice president, Celanese Asia. “Additionally, Mr. Yu will provide strong support for our employee development activities in country and allow us to get much closer to our customers in key areas and build a solid growth platform for Celanese in Korea. I’m eager to work with Mr. Yu to ensure we are creating value for our customers and for Celanese.” Mr. Yu has more than 20 years of experience in semiconductor and specialty materials in the chemical industry. Most recently, he was the country manager with ATMI Korea. Previously, Mr. Yu was general manager for Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials CMP Korea Co., Ltd. Mr. Yu graduated from Inha University Korea and holds a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
