McAfee today announced that leading research firm Gartner, Inc. has positioned the company in the leaders quadrant in its “Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms” published on Jan. 8, 2014. Gartner’s research examined vendors who offer solutions in the endpoint protection marketplace. Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms is based on an assessment of a company’s ability to execute and completeness of vision. Leaders in this quadrant demonstrate balanced progress and effort in all execution and vision categories. Their capabilities in advanced malware protection, data protection and/or management features raise the competitive bar for all products in the market, and they can change the course of the industry. The key ability-to-execute criteria used to evaluate vendors in 2013 were overall viability, market responsiveness and track record. Additional factors included sales execution/pricing, market execution, customer experience and operations. Gartner gauges a company’s completeness of vision by considering its market understanding and the sum of the weighted offering (product) strategy score. “New, complex threats are emerging daily and with the explosion of devices in rapidly evolving IT environments, organizations must ensure they’re protected with comprehensive endpoint security,” said Candace Worley, senior vice president and general manager, endpoint security at McAfee. “We feel McAfee’s positioning as a leader in the Endpoint Protection Magic Quadrant for six consecutive years, demonstrates our commitment to steadily advancing endpoint protection. Customers can no longer rely on what we feel are a few loosely connected products to protect their data and infrastructure. We believe we have defined the market with our Security Connected approach to endpoint protection— providing value to our customers with products that deliver speed, security, and simplicity.” McAfee Complete Endpoint Protection — Enterprise The Complete Endpoint Protection Enterprise suite offers a strong, fast, scalable defense for every device and every threat.
