This is the Future of the Music Industry Now

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- As has been the case for a better part of the last two years, one primary object of my focus in 2014 remains the intersecting areas of startups, entrepreneurship, radio and the music industry. There's no better case study in all four than Pandora (P) Internet Radio.

I intend to pull together these four areas in a wide-ranging, all-encompassing book about Pandora. I have launched a Kickstarter campaign to support the entire process. One that, if we exceed the initial funding goal, I plan to blow up into something bigger than a book.

Ideally it will be an interactive multimedia presentation with a live music component to support the launch.

However it shakes out, there's no better way to capture the current state and potential of the industry-related platforms Pandora helped pioneer than Concert Window, a live concert streaming company founded by musician Dan Gurney:

These are the stories the big label people don't tell. I'm not sure if they don't know about them, are afraid, don't care or just think they're irrelevant. But they better start paying attention because, seemingly small and relatively insignificant, companies such as Concert Window are in the process of dismantling the structure the music industrial complex has worked to prop up, with decreasing success, for decades.
