(NASDAQ: DRIV ), a leading global provider of Commerce-as-a-Service solutions, today announced that it was chosen by Thunder Tiger (TWSE: 8033 ), to build and power the Taiwanese-based manufacturer’s first direct-to-consumer e-commerce channel. Thunder Tiger is marketing and selling its remote-control (RC) model airplanes, helicopters, cars, boats and model engines to hobbyists in select European markets via a new online store at http://eshop.thundertiger-europe.com. The web presence will enable Thunder Tiger to build cross border relationships with customers, including in rural areas that were previously difficult to reach. “Establishing a global online presence requires a comprehensive commerce infrastructure as well as intimate knowledge of local tax, regulatory and payment issues. Digital River’s broad expertise, gained in markets around the world, made the company a great partner for us,” said Aling Lai, chairman and CEO of Thunder Tiger. “With Digital River’s help, we intend to move quickly to market our products directly in a variety of countries.” Thunder Tiger’s new online store, which also includes accessories and hard-to-find replacement parts, is optimized to conduct commerce in specific countries.
