G&K Services, Inc. (NASDAQ:GK) announced today that Kevin Fancey has been appointed President of G&K Services Canada, succeeding Robert G. Wood, who has served as President of G&K Services Canada since 1998. Wood will continue serving G&K as Chairman of G&K Services Canada through June 2014, after which time he will assume a senior advisory role with the company. Fancey joined G&K Services Canada as President Designate in August 2013 and has worked closely with Mr. Wood and other G&K leaders to ensure a seamless transition. Fancey brings nearly 20 years of experience as a leader in service-focused businesses in Canada. Prior to joining G&K, he served as Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Coinamatic Group of Companies. He has also held senior leadership positions at Ricoh Canada, Chubb Security Systems Canada, and Pitney Bowes of Canada. “I am excited to have Kevin join G&K’s leadership team,” said Douglas A. Milroy, Chief Executive Officer. “Kevin brings a strong customer focus and a proven history of driving results throughout his career. I’m confident that with his leadership, G&K Canada will continue to build on its history of excellence.” “Bob Wood has made tremendous contributions to our company,” Milroy continued. “During his 15 years as its President, G&K Services Canada has become the recognized market leader in Canada. I am grateful that he will remain a part of our team and will help ensure a successful leadership transition.” Wood joined G&K Services in 1995. He served as a General Manager and Regional Vice President, before being named President of G&K Services Canada in 1998. Under his guidance, G&K has grown to become the market leading uniform rental company in Canada, more than doubling its annual revenue. Wood established a corporate culture centered on customer service, employee empowerment and engagement, which contributed to G&K being named one of the 50 Best Employers in Canada for the past ten consecutive years.
