Granite Earns ISO 9001:2008 And ISO 14001:2004 Certification For Project Management And Construction Activities

Granite Construction Incorporated (NYSE: GVA) announced today that it has earned ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications for its project management and construction activities on designated projects in its Large Project Group.

ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 are well-known international standards for quality and environmental management systems that represent state-of-the art practices for companies to manage their quality and environmental objectives and responsibilities. NSF International Strategic Registrations, an accredited third-party organization, issued the certificates after auditing Granite’s management system at the corporate and project level and verifying that it conforms to the requirements specified in the standards.

“These certifications are a testament to our outstanding management teams and ongoing commitment to quality and environmental management practices on projects across the country,” said James H. Roberts, Granite’s president and chief executive officer. “This achievement demonstrates our commitment to operational excellence, continual improvement and delivering enhanced results to our customers.”

Granite’s certified management system is part of a company-wide Granite Management System (GMS) built upon the ISO 9001:2004 and ISO 14001:2008 standards. The management processes established by the GMS support consistent operating practices that are environmentally responsible and achieve customer satisfaction.
