LexisNexis Time Matters And TextMap App For The IPad Named To The TL NewsWire Top 25 Products Of 2013 Awards

LexisNexis® Legal & Professional, a leading provider of content and technology solutions, announced today that LexisNexis Time Matters® practice management software and the TextMap® app were voted among the TL NewsWire Top 25 Products of 2013 by the readers of the TL Newswire. TechnoLawyer, which publishes the TL NewsWire, is a network of free email newsletters for lawyers and law office administrators that cover law office management, law firm marketing, legal technology and litigation practice. TL NewsWire covered nearly 200 new products in 2013, only 25 of which won this reader’s choice award.

The Time Matters software, which ranked #20 on the list, is an award winning client, matter and document management system. LexisNexis launched the Time Matters 13 solution in 2013, featuring the integration of WatchDox™ technology, which provides law firms and attorneys with a secure cloud-based, or online, Client Portal for file sharing.

“The Time Matters Client Portal requires minimal setup and training. Among its features, you can share files with both PCs and mobile devices, restrict the documents you share, add a watermark unique to each user to discourage breaches, set an expiration date, revoke previously granted access temporarily or permanently, and prevent unauthorized screen capture by limiting access to small areas of a document at any one time,” wrote Neil J. Squillante, TechnoLawyer Publisher, in the Time Matters 13 TL NewsWire report that resulted in the award. “Needless to say, all documents are encrypted. You can wipe access to any or all of your firm's documents any time.”

The TextMap app, which ranked #24 on the list, is a newly launched app for an Apple® iPad® mobile digital device and enables attorneys to review and annotate transcripts from depositions and other litigation proceedings on their iPad tablet computers. The app complements TextMap transcript management software, part of a suite of litigation management products LexisNexis offers along the Electronic Discovery Reference Model ( EDRM). The TextMap app is free to download on the App Store SM online store and requires an installation of TextMap 6.2 or later software on a Windows PC.

“Once you have a transcript loaded in TextMap for iPad, you can select testimony using the line numbers and apply one or more issues and/or annotations,” said Squillante of a “killer feature” in the TextMap app report published in TL NewsWire. “When you finish reviewing a transcript, you email the updates to yourself or someone else on your team for importing into the desktop version of TextMap.”

The TL NewsWire Top 25 Products awards caps the end of a year where LexisNexis software for the business of law and solutions for legal research and litigation earned multiple awards. For example, LexisNexis earned six awards overall in The Legal Intelligencer’s “Best Of 2013” including for Lexis Advance online research, LexisAdvance HD iPad app, Time Matters case management and time and billing solution and Firm Manager cloud practice management software. What sets many of these awards apart is the fact that many are earned based on the feedback from actual users in the legal community.

“Every news report about a new product in TL NewsWire contains a trackable link to that product's home page. Simply put, the 25 products with the most clicks win,” said Squillante in communication announcing the top 25 products. “A click is like a vote because it means you want to learn more about the product and perhaps buy it. Thus, we consider it more meaningful than if we were to subjectively choose winners.”
