Of 150 nominees, Rodgers was announced to the team in September along with 21 other players for his charitable achievements at Henderson State, and since received the most fan votes on ESPN.com to earn team captaincy. An All-American player from Rockwall, Texas, Rodgers has been involved with numerous charitable efforts during his time at Henderson State, including traveling to Panama City, Fla., in support of the Baptist Collegiate Ministries "Beach Reach" mission trip. Rodgers also assists in building playgrounds at local schools and community centers, and helped bring joy to a terminally ill child during the holiday season when he decorated the child's home with Christmas lights. Rodgers and his fellow Allstate AFCA Good Works Team ® members have been invited to New Orleans to participate in a special youth football clinic prior to the 2014 Allstate ® Sugar Bowl ®.
