Apple TV Gets a Boost From Yahoo!

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Apple's (AAPL) set-top box is getting another boost in content, this time from Yahoo! (YHOO) and PBS.

Yahoo Screen is coming to Apple TV, the company announced on its Tumblr. Included in the content are "Saturday Night Live, The Colbert Report, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, live news and events, music and original Yahoo programs," the company said in the blog post.

This continues Apple's efforts to increase its content to its set-top box, as it continues to explore the potential for a stand-alone television set.  Earlier this year, Apple added HBOGo and WatchESPN to the content available to owners of the $99 box.

Shares of Apple were higher in early Tuesday trading, up 0.57% to $521.59.
