ST's highly-integrated, secure and optimized HD cable chipset is set to accelerate Taiwan's transition to digital TV. ST's newest set-top box chips enable the delivery of innovative DVB and Internet-based services to price-sensitive market segments, broadening consumer access to HD Interactive STB, Personal Video Recorders (PVR), Internet Protocol (IP) clients and dual-HD boxes supporting connected-TV services such as IPTV, information channels and Over-The-Top (OTT) video, gaming, catch-up TV and social networking. Together, these features will enable operators to win extra subscribers and grow revenue while similarly helping retailers to offer richer features in their set-top boxes.
