Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced that the Superior Court of California, County of Kern, has selected Tyler’s Odyssey ® court case management system to unify case management and streamline operations throughout the court. Kern Superior Court selected Odyssey and its e-filing (electronic filing) solution to replace the Superior Court’s two, disparate case management systems. The current criminal and traffic court system is nearing the end of its life cycle, and other case types are handled by a completely different system. Because Odyssey is an integrated, end-to-end solution, it unifies case management across the court, streamlining processes and enabling court staff to focus on other critical operational matters. “Odyssey checked off all the boxes of those items that we thought were crucial to a case management system that will serve us well into the future,” said Court Executive Officer Terry McNally. “Most importantly, it can be fully integrated with our justice partners, it has e-filing and document management capabilities and it reduces our maintenance costs significantly.” The Superior Court is the third court to procure a case management system using the Master Services Agreement (MSA) that gives California’s 58 superior courts the ability to purchase Tyler’s Odyssey integrated court case management system at pre-negotiated terms, conditions and pricing outlined in the MSA. Purchasing through this MSA will save courts time and money. The MSA was developed by a group of IT leaders and court managers within the California judicial system as a way for the state’s superior courts to efficiently purchase a case management system without the cost and inconvenience of conducting their own request for proposal (RFP) process.
