Armada Hoffler Properties, Inc. (NYSE: AHH), a full service real estate company, best known in Baltimore for constructing the majority of the buildings in Harbor East, is expanding its project portfolio throughout the metropolitan region. The company recently completed construction of the Under Armour Station House and is the general contractor for the Hyatt Place Baltimore / Inner Harbor Hotel, which broke ground on August 19 of this year. Armada Hoffler Properties began construction on Under Armour’s Station House in March 2013. The 4,200 square-foot building serves as the gateway to Under Armour’s campus in Locust Point and officially opened October 1, 2013. Station House has many unique features including exterior metal panels from the Netherlands on the north side of the building, exhibit space floors made to look like a professional basketball court without the markings and a 14x10 foot LED video display wall. “Our work in Harbor East helped introduce Armada Hoffler Properties to Baltimore and established us as a construction company with the expertise and capabilities to complete innovative projects,” said Al Hunt, Executive Vice President of Construction at Armada Hoffler. “Legg Mason’s Global Headquarters, Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore and the Hyatt Place Baltimore / Inner Harbor Hotel are prime examples of how we are building upon our experience and reputation for high-quality construction to expand to other areas and projects in the city.” The Hyatt Place Baltimore / Inner Harbor Hotel is a $24.4 million construction project located at the corner of Fleet Street and Central Avenue. The 150,000 square foot project, which will create 240 new construction jobs, is expected to be completed in Fall 2014 and will feature ground-level retail space as well as internal parking. The 206-room cast-in-place concrete structure hotel will have a masonry and glass façade with a glass and steel entry Porte-cochère. The hotel takes the place of a one-story warehouse that formerly occupied the site.
