NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- The government drama occupies the headlines but earnings season begins Tuesday. TheStreet's Jill Malandrino, Brittany Umar and Andrew Krill discussed Alcoa ( AA), which reports after the close on Tuesday. Despite being dropped from the Dow Jones Industrial Average, investors will still be focused on the company's international forecasts, they agreed.

Yum! Brands ( YUM) will also report after the bell on Tuesday. Costco Wholesale ( COST) and Family Dollar Stores ( FDO) will report on Wednesday morning.

Safeway ( SWY) will report on Thursday after the close and Wells Fargo ( WFC) will report Friday before the open.

Also on Friday, retail sales data for the month of September will be released at 8:30 a.m. EDT, along with the producer price index (PPI) for the month of September.
