A.M. Best Withdraws Ratings Of First Trenton Indemnity Company Due To Merger With An Affiliated Company

A.M. Best Co. has withdrawn the financial strength rating of A (Excellent) and issuer credit rating of “a” of First Trenton Indemnity Company (First Trenton) (Parsippany, NJ) following its merger into an affiliate company, The Travelers Indemnity Company (Hartford, CT), a subsidiary of The Travelers Companies, Inc. (TRV) (headquartered in New York, NY)(NYSE:TRV) on October 1, 2013. The ratings of TRV and its property/casualty subsidiaries are unaffected by this transaction.
