Today Aloft Hotels, the must-have brand for the next generation of traveler from Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and NYLON Magazine have announced this year’s winner of the fourth annual Project Aloft Star competition, MY BODY. After being hand-selected from an entry pool of 122 artists to make the top five, MY BODY impressed music fans, Aloft music insiders & Nylon Magazine’s music team, crowning them this year’s Project Aloft Star. Winning the competition, MY BODY receives a meeting with NYLON Records, the opportunity to be a Spotlight artist in the Live at Aloft Hotels music series and an inclusion in the 2013 Aloft print and digital campaign. MY BODY was founded in 2012 when band members Darren Bridenbeck and Jordan Bagnall came together over a shared desire to create a new sound and the band was born. Backed by a live band, MY BODY gained momentum on the Portland music scene opening for bands including How to Dress Well, Pure Bathing Culture and Wild Ones before relocating to Brooklyn, NY in 2012, where they reformed as a synth-pop two-piece.
