(Nasdaq:MSPD), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for broadcast infrastructure, today announced a family of high-performance, asynchronous, fully non-blocking crosspoint switches supporting ultra high-definition television (UHDTV). The M21024, M21036 and M21048 products support switch matrix densities of 24x24, 36x36 and 48x48 respectively. These devices enable broadcast equipment manufacturers to deliver next-generation higher-speed systems capable of supporting uncompressed UHDTV serial digital interface (SDI) covering data-rates up to 11.88 Gbps. The devices further extend the industry's broadest offering of crosspoint switches with matrix sizes spanning 2x2 to 288x288. The devices also feature ultra-low jitter, and the transmit drivers feature output pre-emphasis and adjustable swing for link optimization. Mindspeed will be showcasing its crosspoint portfolio and video transport solutions at IBC 2013 in booth 8.B38e, from September 13-17, 2013 at the RAI Center in Amsterdam. A live demonstration of the company's high data rate crosspoint switch technology in a 4K UHDTV editing workflow scenario featuring a workstation from ProMAX Systems is planned.
