Throughout the day, 7,669,288 shares of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing exchanged hands as compared to its average daily volume of 11,686,600 shares. The stock ranged in a price between $16.95-$17.26 after having opened the day at $16.96 as compared to the previous trading day's close of $16.86. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing has a market cap of $87.6 billion and is part of the electronics industry. Shares are down 1.7% year to date as of the close of trading on Wednesday. Currently there are 2 analysts that rate Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and 2 rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing as a buy. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its robust revenue growth, largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures, notable return on equity, solid stock price performance and impressive record of earnings per share growth. Although no company is perfect, currently we do not see any significant weaknesses which are likely to detract from the generally positive outlook.

On the negative front, Bazaarvoice ( BV), down 17.0%, Aetrium Incorporated ( ATRM), down 12.1%, Mitcham Industries ( MIND), down 11.3% and Zoom Technologies ( ZOOM), down 9.4% , were all laggards within the technology sector with CenturyLink ( CTL) being today's technology sector laggard.
