(NASDAQ: Z), the leading real estate information marketplace, today announced it will open a new office in Lincoln, Neb., to serve as headquarters for Mortech®, a Zillow® business that provides essential software tools to the mortgage industry. The new office, located at 5940 S. 57 th St., will open this summer. A grand opening ribbon-cutting event with the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce is scheduled on Thursday, Sept. 12. The new office will house primarily the Mortech team. Zillow acquired Mortech, which was founded in Lincoln 26 years ago, in 2012. The company plans to staff more than 50 employees in its new office. "Our employees are quite excited about our new contemporary space, and have been anticipating the move," said Don Kracl, vice president of mortgage tools for Zillow. "As our team continues to expand and grow, it has become increasingly more important to have state-of-the-art facilities to assist in our developing business and operations." The location includes 7,200 square feet of space and will be home to more than 40 employees, with room to grow as Zillow continues to hire. This will be the second office for Zillow and Mortech in Lincoln. Some operations will remain in Mortech's existing office at 5960 S. 57 th St. Zillow, which has been recognized as a great place to work by Seattle Met magazine, employs more than 685 people nationwide.
