TheStreet Ratings rates Equinix as a hold. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its revenue growth and expanding profit margins. However, as a counter to these strengths, we also find weaknesses including a generally disappointing performance in the stock itself, deteriorating net income and disappointing return on equity.

On the negative front, LookSmart ( LOOK), down 8.1%, Taomee Holdings ( TAOM), down 7.5%, Jiayuan.com International ( DATE), down 7.3% and MeetMe ( MEET), down 6.6% , were all laggards within the internet industry with Zynga ( ZNGA) being today's internet industry laggard.

For investors not wanting singular stock exposure, ETFs may be of interest. Investors who are bullish on the internet industry could consider First Trust Dow Jones Internet Idx ( FDN) while those bearish on the internet industry could consider ProShares Ultra Short Technology ( REW).
