Windstream Names Matt Preschern Enterprise Chief Marketing Officer

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Aug. 13, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Windstream Corp. (Nasdaq:WIN) has named Matt Preschern senior vice president and enterprise chief marketing officer.

Preschern will be responsible for brand management, advertising, strategic marketing, product development and marketing, pricing and channel marketing.

Preschern was formerly vice president of marketing for NA Business Consulting Services at IBM.

"Matt is a veteran marketing and business strategy professional with more than 20 years of experience in marketing, brand positioning and demand generation," said Brent Whittington, chief operating officer at Windstream. "He will provide innovative leadership as we continue to expand Windstream's brand and drive our vision to be the premier enterprise communications and services provider."

At IBM, Preschern was actively engaged in the company's growth initiatives, such as Big Data and Analytics and Smarter Commerce. In September 2012, he received BtoB magazine's "Top Digital Marketer" award in recognition for his work using digital platforms to promote IBM's hardware, software and services, as part of its "Smarter Planet" initiative.

Previously, Preschern was the vice president of demand programs, responsible for driving IBM's North America demand generation efforts across all IBM brands, customer sets, and business partners.
