NEW YORK (AP) â¿¿ Shares of some top silver companies are down at 1 p.m.:

Hecla Mining Co. fell $.16 or 5.1 percent, to $2.99.

Pan American Silver Corp. fell $.42 or 3.5 percent, to $11.74.

Silver Standard Resources Inc. fell $.51 or 7.2 percent, to $6.55.

Silver Wheaton fell $.90 or 4.1 percent, to $21.03.
