BAB, Inc. (OTCBB: BABB), announced it has received a second new Franchise Agreement for SweetDuet Frozen Yogurt & Gourmet Muffins®. The first unit is now under development in Kalamazoo, Michigan and is expected to open next month. The opening of the second unit should follow shortly thereafter. The newest SweetDuet franchisee is Michigan corporation “Loti Linc, Inc,” which is operated by Jason and Rachel Boussom. The Boussoms, like Victoria Enterprises, Inc., the first SweetDuet franchisee, were already part of BAB’s franchise system. The Boussoms have been franchisees for nine years as owner-operators of two Big Apple Bagels units in the Kalamazoo area. Their SweetDuet will be located in Portage, Michigan. Michael W. Evans, President and CEO of BAB said, “Two of our strong veteran franchisees have chosen to open the first SweetDuet locations. Their confidence in this new concept and in BAB as a franchisor has really added to our excitement about the upcoming launch. With twenty-eight Big Apple Bagels locations throughout Michigan, I can’t think of a better place to introduce customers and potential new franchisees to SweetDuet.” Evans went on to point out that both Michigan franchisees have taken advantage of BAB’s introductory incentive program in which the Company waived their initial $20,000 franchise fees. Jason Boussom of Loti Linc, Inc. commented, “In my opinion, BAB has hit on a formula that should be very attractive to franchisees. The idea of marrying self-serve frozen yogurt with BAB’s long successful My Favorite Muffin products and including breakfast provides for expanded sales opportunities under the same roof – both from a daily and a seasonal standpoint.” The newest BAB brand pairs the popular self-serve frozen yogurt concept with BAB’s exclusive My Favorite Muffin® proprietary gourmet muffins and muffin gift baskets, accompanied by a breakfast selection which includes a fresh yogurt and oatmeal bar, hot breakfast sandwiches and BAB’s Brewster’s® Coffee.
