Mel Mehret, data communications application engineer, says, “Stratum 3 network timing compliance is required for reliable data transmission among servers but it’s not enough. To achieve the promise of LTE connect speeds, the network that connects servers needs to be more efficient. The M615x Series TCXO fully meets Stratum 3 requirements but also lowers close-in phase noise, offering design margin to switch and router makers which can translate into a lower bit error rate for higher effective bandwidth.” TeleGeography’s Global Internet Geography research reports that total Internet bandwidth grew from about 30 Tbps (terabits per second) in 2009 to approaching 90 Tbps in 2012.
