DETROIT, July 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- WDIV-TV Local 4 today announced that Evrod Cassimy will join the newly named morning newscast, Local 4 News Today, beginning Aug. 12. Cassimy will co-anchor 4:30 a.m. – 7 a.m. weekdays alongside current anchor Rhonda Walker. Cassimy is currently the morning anchor and reporter for CBS4 News in Denver. There, he has covered several big stories including the Aurora movie theater shootings, Michael Moore's Occupy Denver protests and the Colorado wildfires. He began his career in Grand Junction, Colorado at KJCT News 8 and worked in Madison, Wisconsin; Orlando, Florida; and Richmond, Virginia where he won the Virginia Associated Press Award for "Best Coverage of Breaking News" in 2010. "We are excited to add Evrod to our Local 4 news team.
